| Subject: The Solemn Scolding Theory Sat Jun 04, 2016 11:08 pm | |
| I have been getting a lot of hate lately because I praise Solemn Scolding as the best Trap card, best Solemn card ever made. I want to make some key points on why I feel this should be at stapple level. Then explain why it is not.
Cost Yes it is true Solemn Scolding does cost 3000 Life Points, most people play 1 Solemn Warning, 3 Solemn Strike which cost 500 more Life Points.
Only set card The fact is you will not need any other set Spell/Trap cards, you are negating ANYTHING your opponent has. Room in your deck This is another bad agrument I hear, you would not run Solemn Warning or Solemn Strike there would be no need this would leave 2 extra spots open in your deck for other cards.
Negates more A lot of times I hear people say Judgment is the best Solemn card then Warning. Solemn Judgemnt is an amazing card however you cannot negate Monster effects with Solemn Judgment this is very immporant in todays meta as most decks are Monster effect heavy.
Reason its not stappled Just because a card does not become stapple level does not mean its a bad card, just underplayed. Does not matter how many people use a card if a "pro player" such as Patrick Hobben or Jeff Jones does not play the card it will not see a lot of play. This game is full of people who follow the newest trends, we as players do whatever the best player does this determs what decks, packs, cards we buy and use.
Late Game A lot of people are saying how it is a bad card late game, into days meta if a game goes pass 3 turns then you are doing something wrong. There is no "late game" in todays meta. | |
