~ of the Forbidden Lands ~

In the ancient eras of the Terminal World, when Dewlorens roamed the land, when the Dragunity tribe filled the skies, when Gottoms was just a mysterious youth who awoke one day, alone, before all the conflict and strife...
There was even more conflict and strife. Seriously, what do you expect from a world whose name means "end"? Sunshine and happiness and love?

Anyways, the Naturia have been defending the Sacred Tree for time immemoriable. But there weren't always Shaddolls or Verz attacking it. Corruption from the Scourge below the Tree caused some of the vegetation in the surrounding forest to slowly get corrupted over time. Fruits became poison, vines and branches became thorned, and eventually, the plants uprooted themselves and began an assault, attempting to free their dark masters.

The Naturia quarantened them, and banished them to the shadows of the Naturia forest, to a dark, twisted, reflected world - the Forbidden Lands.

------

The Forbidden Lands archetype is a fusion-heavy archetype, that draws some inspiration from Yang Zings and Lavals. The primary features of the archetype are that the monsters contribute effects to their Fusions, and that certain cards grow stronger as you pass certain name-quantity thresholds in your Grave. (Yes, I know that Lightsworns have that with Judgment Dragon, but Lavals use that a whole lot more.) But enough talking ABOUT the cards, you probably came here to see... er... READ them. (Sorry for the lack of pictures. I couldn't find suitable images for what came to mind. Instead, I'll type out image descriptions.)

Calotropis of the Forbidden Lands
[Appearance: A lime-green, smooth turtle shell with thorny spider legs and an imp-like head. The head is surrounded with a lion's mane of purple pentagram-shaped flowers, and the eyes are blank, purple, and vacant. The face has a distant expression.]
Level 5/DARK/Plant/Effect/2100 ATK/0 DEF
If you control no monsters, except Fusion Monsters, and you have 4 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters in your Graveyard with different names, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). You can Fusion Summon 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster using this face-up monster and other monsters you control. If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * During your End Phase, send the top 4 cards of each player's Deck to the Graveyard.

Clematis of the Forbidden Lands
[Appearance: A coiled, slimy snake, with an imp-like face, dotted with small, tear-shaped leaves. Its head is crowned with tiny, clustered white flowers, and its eyes are blank, iris-and-pupil-less, white.]
Level 4/DARK/Plant/Effect/1500 ATK/0 DEF
If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up, you can add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * When this card is Summoned, if you have 3 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters in your Graveyard with different names, destroy 1 card on the field.

Foxglove of the Forbidden Lands
[Appearance: A reddish imp, short and stubby, with rounded, eliptical leaves forming a loincloth, gauntlets, and hair. Blood-red eyes, sharp fangs curled into a grin, and long, thin, bell-like flowers dangling from its hands.]
Level 3/DARK/Plant/Effect/1200 ATK/0 DEF
If this card is destroyed by battle or by card effect, you gain 500 LP and your opponent loses 500 LP. If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * When this card is destroyed, add 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Hemlock of the Forbidden Lands
Level 4/DARK/Plant/Effect/1800 ATK/0 DEF
[Appearance: A bulky, dark green imp, moderate height and slightly muscular, winged with fan-like leaves and wearing bushy white bunches of flowers like boxing gloves. Its face is sharp, angular, and grinning, and its eyes are pale, white and smooth.]
If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains 500 ATK and DEF for each Fusion Material used. If this card is used as Fusion Material, and you have 4 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names in your Graveyard, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * Once per turn, you can banish 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster from your Graveyard: Your opponent sends 1 random card from his or her hand to the Graveyard.

Ivy of the Forbidden Lands
Level 2/DARK/Plant/Effect/0 ATK/0 DEF
[Appearance: Long, coiled strands of plant-matter, covered in small, fruit-like structures resembling purely-green, eyeless imp heads. Mouths and horns line the vines and leaves in seemingly random arrays.]
You can discard this card: Add 1 "Polymerization" from your Graveyard to your hand. If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you can discard 1 card: Add 1 "Ivy of the Forbidden Lands" from your Graveyard to your hand.

Stavesacre of the Forbidden Lands
Level 5/DARK/Plant/Effect/2300 ATK/0 DEF
[Appearance: A tall, bulky ogre with the familiar imp face that this archetype shares across its members. It carries a pole tipped with a large, five-pointed flower and has a five-pointed leaf as a loin-cloth. Its eyes are light-purple, and its face relaxed.]
If this card is Normal Summoned, it gains 500 ATK and inflicts piercing damage until your next turn. If this card is used as Fusion Material, the Fusion Monster gains the following effect: * Once per turn, during either player's turn, if you have 5 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names in your Graveyard, you can banish one "of the Forbidden Lands" monster from your Graveyard and destroy 1 Spell or Trap card on the field.

Brewmaster of the Forbidden Lands
Level 1/DARK/Spellcaster/Effect/0 ATK/2000 DEF
[Appearance: A tattered, thorn-covered scarecrow made of twisted, gnarled, greying vines, coiled around a rusty frame. It has a single, sparkling white eye, and wears a long, torn white coat. A stylized imp head is printed on the coat.]
FLIP: Activate the following effect(s), based on how many "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names are in your Graveyard: *1 or more:  You gain 200 LP for each card in your Graveyard. *3 or more: Destroy 1 Spell or Trap card. *5 or more: Each player sends a card from his or her hand to the Graveyard. *7 or more: Banish this card and all "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters in your Graveyard: Fusion Summon 1 "Genocide DDT - Lord of the Forbidden Lands" using these cards as the Material.

Apothecary of the Forbidden Lands
Level 1/DARK/Spellcaster/Effect/0 ATK/2000 DEF
[Appearance: A small, humanoid statue, resembling some sort of mage, coiled tightly with dozens of thorn-coated vines, similar to those on Brewmaster. A single eye sparkles white, and a matching white coat is draped over the shoulders of this statue.]
FLIP: Activate the following effect(s), based on how many "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names are in your Graveyard: *2 or more: Return 1 card on the field to its owner's hand. *4 or more: Destroy 1 monster. *6 or more: Draw a card. *8 or more: Banish this card and all "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters in your Graveyard: Fusion Summon 1 "Agent Orange - Scourge of the Forbidden Lands" using these cards as the Material.

Genocide DDT - Lord of the Forbidden Lands
[Appearance: Three large, cylindrical canisters, stamped with the stylized imp head and joined toegether at a central, spherical tank, all filled nearly to the top with a murky, bubbling liquid. The tank is cracked at the bottom and the liquid oozes out in smooth, coherent tendrils. A single white eye can be seen in the core.]
Level 8/DARK/Aqua/Fusion/Effect/2400 ATK/0 DEF
2 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters
When this card is Fusion Summoned, send 1 card from the top of each player's Deck to his or her graveyard for each Fusion Material used. During your End Phase, if you have 5 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names in your Graveyard, draw 2 cards, then discard 1 card. If this card is used as Fusion Material, destroy all monsters your opponent controls.

Agent Orange - Scourge of the Forbidden Lands
[Appearance: A spherical tank with three canisters, as in the previous card, but this time, the structure is full of an orange substance, with the eye resting in the central canister, and the side canisters cracked, a pair of draconic wings forming from orange fog escaping. A grate is mounted on the bottom, with slight orange mist around it.]
Level 8/DARK/Aqua/Fusion/Effect/2600 ATK/0 DEF
2 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters
When this card is Fusion Summoned, look at your opponent's hand and Set cards, and send 1 card from among them to the Graveyard. "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters you control gain 300 ATK for each "of the Forbidden Lands" monster with a different name in your Graveyard. If this card is used as Fusion Material, destroy all Spell and Trap cards your opponent controls.

Pestilence - Overlord of the Forbidden Lands
[Appperance: A large, spherical mass of twisted, gnarled vines and cracked, oozing canisters of various colors. Pulsing eyes line the vines, and hands reach out in various places, formed of thick, black ooze.]
Level 10/DARK/Aqua/Fusion/Effect/3000 ATK/3000 DEF
2 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" Fusion Monsters
If you are Fusion Summoning this monster, the activation of the card effect summoning it and the summoning cannot be negated, and your opponent cannot activate cards in response to either. Once per turn, you can discard or Tribute 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster: It is now Fusion Material used for this monster. If this card has 12 or more Fusion Material, it is unaffected by other card effects.

Poison Crafting
[Appearance: A mortar-and-pestle with various leaves and berries being crushed in it. The stylized imp head is engraved in the pestle.]
Normal Spell
Add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck or your Graveyard to your hand. If you do, you can send 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Harvest the Components
[Appearance: Brewmaster and Apothecary hopping through a dark, twisted forest, looking around while eyes glare at them from all around.]
Normal Spell
Excavate the top 7 cards of your Deck. Send up to 3 "of the Forbidden Lands" cards revealed this way to the Graveyard, and, for each card of a different name sent this way, you can add an "of the Forbidden Lands" card excavated this way to your hand. Shuffle your Deck afterwards.

Airborn Toxins
[Appearance: Foxglove and Hemlock burning in blue flames as an orange vapor escapes them towards a cylinder in the sky.]
Quickplay Spell
At the end of this turn, Fusion Summon 1 "of the Forbidden Lands" monster using appropriate Material sent to the Graveyard this turn by battle or by the effects of cards your opponent controls.

Hidden Thorns
[Appearance: A light, gentle clearing in a peaceful forest, with a single, small coil of dark, mangled, thorny vine.]
Counter Trap
If you have 3 or more "of the Forbidden Lands" monsters with different names in your Graveyard, negate a Summon or a card effect that would Summon a monster.

Concentrated Poison
[Apperance: The 6 Main Deck Plants gathered in a circle, their faces dripping with black ichor into a central glass bulb.]
Trap
You gain 500 life for each "of the Forbidden Lands" monster in your graveyard with a different name. Your opponent loses that much life. If your opponent loses 2000 or more life this way, they must tribute a creature they control.
