Next to every post you make you can see your reputation level displayed on the left side.
Your reputation level represents your current social standing & popularity in the forums, therefore its important to have a high reputation level.
Having a high reputation level also increases the chance of getting accepted for certain positions on the site.
How the reputation system works:

Every time you post, members on the forum have the right to increase or decrease your reputation by clicking on the + or - symbols on the top right corner of each post.
For this reason it is important that you be careful of what you post on the forums.
